In 80’s RAP….
Kool Moe D let us know that ” Knowledge Is King”.. good point! In the new millenium and inspired by the likes of one of reggae music’s all time greats (as well as one of our all time fav’s) Dennis Brown… it’s no wonder that Jamaica’s Bryan Art brings a strong sense of consciousness with his own brand of roots, culture & positive vibes… to proclaim and remind us that “Knowledge Is Power”.

Q. MRCPROMO: Peace Bryan Art, how are you?
A. BRYAN: Greetings, I am doing wonderfully, thank you.

Q. MRCPROMO: Where are you from?
A. BRYAN: I was born in Murray Mount St. Ann, Jamaica.. very close proximity to where Reggae legend Bob Marley was born and spent his formative years. However I have been living in Kingston City for over 2 decades.

Q. MRCPROMO: When did you start producing music?
A. BRYAN: I started producing music about the year 2000.

Q. MRCPROMO: What other music do you listen to besides reggae.
A. BRYAN: Besides reggae music I listen to every and any genre including and mostly rhythm and blues.

Q. MRCPROMO: You have positive messages in your music.. what artist in the reggae world has had the most influence on you?
A. BRYAN: Yes, I do always have positive messages in my music which is due to my high moral upbringing, and of course positive messages is one of the core elements of reggae. The late Dennis Brown whose style varied between moral and cultural awareness to mushy love songs, has had the most influence on me as a singer.

Q. MRCPROMO: If you could work with any artist or producer who would it be?
A. BRYAN: There are so many artistes and producers that I would welcome the chance to work with but right now I would say Steven Marley or JZ.

Q. MRCPROMO: Are you currently working on any new projects?
A. BRYAN: Yes, I am always working on new projects. Right now the focus is on the promotion of my newest single “Knowledge Is The Power” however the production of my sophomore album is running in the background.

Q. MRCPROMO: What do you think about commercial radio?
A. BRYAN: The diversity of radio audience means commercial radio stations finding and engaging their respective target group.. what I like about that is the variety across the dial, however the control by major labels and repetition of their records offer very little opportunity to indie labels and fresh talent.

Q. MRCPROMO: What is the name of your latest project, do you do collabs.. also where can other artist & promoters find you?
A. BRYAN: Yes I do collabs. My latest EP features Queen Ifrica and Sizzla on one track and Capleton on another. I’ve also done collabs with Hawkeye, Warrior King to name a few.. you can find me on most of the social networks!

Q. MRCPROMO: Any last words?
A. BRYAN: Never kill a good song!
